Michael Burke specialises in the development and implementation of strategy to enable organisations and individuals to achieve their corporate and personal vision. Michael mentors Senior Management in both large corporations and medium size enterprises. Michael excels in consulting work, including facilitating and monitoring development and implementation of strategic plans. He also provides general consulting services such as profit improvement and continuous improvement support.
He was previously the partner–in–charge of the Business Advisory Group Mancell Pty Ltd and while consulting, was also in charge of the day-to-day operations and overall planning of the business. Previously, he worked with Coopers & Lybrand (Now Price Waterhouse Coopers) in the mid to late eighties and later has been a director of Kreston International, the 15th Largest Accounting Group in the world. Michael is also on the board of trustees of the Charitable Trust “Mindshop Excellence”. This is a work experience program 'with a difference' for year 10 students. He is also a non-executive director of Newoak Ford.
Michael has considerable experience in the manufacturing, building & construction (and related) industries, services and corporate sectors. Michael’s skills have been acknowledged by Business Victoria, who have recognised him as one of their “Preferred Professional Advisors”. Michael is also a facilitator / lecturer for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia’s CA program in the Strategic Business Management Module. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University, is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and is an accredited Mindshop facilitator.
Michael mentors leaders. He chairs three Senior Management Networks, bringing corporations together and “rising stars” within corporates together to discuss the latest business issues and trends.
His work has successfully taken him to a wide variety of both private and public sector clients. These include: Qantas, Amcor, Stanley Tools, Peter Stevens Motorcycles, Draeger Medical, Kempe Engineering, Metricon Homes, Lavazza, Commonwealth Bank, Count Wealth Accountants, Housing Industry Association, National Electrical Communications Association, McDonalds, GE Finance, Australian Society of CPA’s, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia, Burnett Swayne – Southampton UK, Australian Medical Association, Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce, City Of Whittlesea, Transport Accident Commission, Land Victoria, Department of Sustainability & Environment and Victorian Waste Management Association.
Michael is married, has three children and lives in Melbourne.
